We are a small family-run hostel. We only collect what we need to look after your stay, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
- Booking details you give us on mookahome.com or through booking sites: name, email, phone, dates and room. They are stored in our booking system (Beds24).
- WhatsApp messages you send to our number +84 888 287 288, including your WhatsApp name and number, so our staff can reply and see past conversations.
- Website usage statistics through Google Analytics: pages viewed, buttons clicked, device and country. We remove emails and booking details from page addresses before anything is sent to Google.
How we use it
- To manage your booking, check-in, tours, bus tickets and other services you ask for.
- To answer your messages. When our staff are busy, an AI assistant may reply on WhatsApp or in the website chat using information about the hostel. AI replies are labelled, and a real person can take over at any time. The AI never confirms a booking by itself.
- To understand how people use our website so we can make it better.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run our hostel and website, and only for the purposes above:
- Beds24 (booking system) and the booking sites you booked through.
- Meta / WhatsApp, which delivers WhatsApp messages.
- Anthropic, which provides the AI model that drafts assistant replies. Your messages are sent to it only to produce a reply.
- Google (Firebase for storing messages and service records, Google Analytics for statistics).
- Tour and bus operators, but only the details needed for the trip you booked (name, number of people, pickup).
How long we keep it
Booking records are kept as long as Vietnamese accounting and tax rules require. Chat and WhatsApp messages are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted.
Your choices & deleting your data
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, including your WhatsApp conversation and chat history. Message us on WhatsApp +84 888 287 288 or ask at reception, and we will do it within 30 days. You can also block Google Analytics with your browser's privacy settings or an ad blocker.
