The bus from Da Lat to Nha Trang takes about 4 hours and costs 260,000 VND per person (roughly $10 USD). Buses leave from early morning to late afternoon, from 7:00 up to 16:30, on a reclining seat bus. Because it is a daytime trip, you see the mountain scenery instead of sleeping through it.

Leave Da Lat at about 1,500 m, past pine forests, vegetable farms and coffee hills. It is cool, so keep a jacket handy.

The pass
The road (QL27C) crosses the Khanh Le / Hon Giao pass with many curves and wide views over the valleys. This is the part to look out of the window for.

Coming down
The air warms up quickly and the landscape turns dry and sunny as you near the coast. A short comfort stop is normal on the way.

Da Lat sits at about 1,500 m and Nha Trang is at sea level, so nearly the whole ride is a descent. Going the other way, the same road climbs back into cool mountain air.

Motion sickness
The descent has many bends. Sit near the front, take medication before you board and look at the horizon rather than your phone.
Bring a jacket
Da Lat starts cool and the bus air conditioning can be strong, but Nha Trang is hot and humid. Keep layers in your day bag.

Your main bag goes in the hold. Keep water, charger, snacks, valuables and a passport copy with you.
